About the Event
The Silver Tongues Writing Circle is a transformative, hybrid creative space for queer women of all genders, nonbinary beings, and AFAB elders 50+ to gather in reflection, creativity, and truth-telling—both in person at the Queer Arts Center Gallery and online via the gallery website.
Participants write and share stories that confront and heal the legacies of anti-Blackness, anti-womanism, ableism, colorism, and other intersecting oppressions. Each 2-hour session blends poetry, journaling, and dialogue to honor lived experience, ancestral wisdom, and intergenerational healing.
The $10–$30 sliding scale fee includes a custom journal/workbook of writing prompts created by KinFolkz, guiding participants toward self-expression, collective liberation, and creative renewal. Hosted by the Queer Arts Center, Silver Tongues reclaims language as a practice of resistance, healing, and joy.
