About the Event
Bring your paper and crayons, glue sticks and paintbrushes, crocheting needles, and clay - bring a project of any kind that you are working on, share a project that you found online and would like to try, or come and DOODLE. Art offers us a healthy way to rewire our brains to process and reduce stress.
Art offers our brain HEALTHY PAUSE to HEAL and better process new information. #ParadigmPivot
The Queer Qrafting Circle is a weekly crafting circle for the entire LGBTQIA+ community. Every Thursday 5-6 pm, this creative arts healing circle provides a healthy opportunity for participants to learn a new art skill from volunteer artists and/or to bring their particular art and craft project to work on and/or share with the circle.
The Queer Qrafting Session serves as a creative and productive outlet that nurtures self-esteem and builds all-important communal support. It has been scientifically proven that the process of working in a group to learn, envision, produce, and realize an art project to its final form boosts our health and gives us access to healthy social circles.
The Queer Qrafting Circle is one of the East Bay Queer Arts Center community wellness program offerings. Created by Kin Folkz/Spectrum Queer Media in 2018, is curated by Kin Folkz and Jordan "Jodie" Green. The Guild welcomes anyone who would like to present 5-7 mins of their work/technique during our 60minute session. We invite all participants to share their project ideas for any future circles by emailing us at ourKinFolkz@gmail.com.
