You are invited to celebrate Marsha P. Johnson during LGBTQIA+ OurStory Month with us!
An interactive exhibition titled “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” by artivist Kin Folkz opens at The Queer Healing Arts Center in Oakland, California. The exhibition celebrates LGBTQIA+ History Month by uplifting the life of Marsha “Pay It No Mind” Johnson, one of the most important icons in LGBTQIA+ history. Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans woman, and champion for transgender rights was a primary force behind the 1969 Stonewall Riots that energized the LGBTQ+ movement. Artivist Kin Folkz’s “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” interactive art exhibition takes the viewer on a journey into Marsha P. Johnson’s trans activism and resistance through music, video, paintings, digital art, fabric art, and clay pieces.
