You are invited to celebrate Marsha P. Johnson during LGBTQIA+ OurStory Month with us!
An interactive exhibition titled “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” by artivist Kin Folkz opens on October 28th and continues on October 29th, November 18, and November 19th, 2022 at The Queer Healing Arts Center in Oakland, California. The exhibition celebrates LGBTQIA+ History Month by uplifting the life of Marsha “Pay It No Mind” Johnson, one of the most important icons in LGBTQIA+ history. Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans woman, and champion for transgender rights was a primary force behind the 1969 Stonewall Riots that energized the LGBTQ+ movement. Artivist Kin Folkz’s “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha” interactive art exhibition takes the viewer on a journey into Marsha P. Johnson’s trans activism and resistance through music, video, paintings, digital art, fabric art, and clay pieces.
