What does it mean to live, thrive, and create in a world that often seeks to silence you? *Black Everyday* is more than just an art exhibit—it is a powerful testament to the strength, defiance, and undeniable brilliance of Black life in all its forms. Through the works of four incredible artists—Kin Folkz, Apryl Sadler, JIBCA, and Sloane—this exhibit transforms the seemingly ordinary moments of Black existence into striking acts of resistance, love, and boundless joy.

From evocative mixed-media pieces that weave together historical and contemporary narratives, to bold surreal compositions that reimagine Black futures, *Black Everyday* centers the voices, visions, and lived experiences of Black communities. It invites you to witness, reflect, and celebrate the radical act of simply being—of existing unapologetically and vibrantly in a world that tries to define Blackness through struggle alone.

In these challenging and uncertain times, it’s healthy to anchor ourselves in the enduring wisdom of our most effective equity leaders, who navigated similarly oppressive periods with resilience and insight. “Intersection of Dreams: Baldwin & Lorde” is a powerful multimedia art exhibit by KinFolkz, inspired by the profound, though unfilmed, 1984 dialogue between James Baldwin and Audre Lorde. This exhibit breathes life into Baldwin and Lorde’s call for “courageous conversations,” urging us to face hard truths with openness and bravery. Through their work, KinFolkz—who describes their art as “he.art peaces”—encourages us to embrace listening deeply to marginalized voices. KinFolkz posits that within these intersections, we find the tools to rebuild a democracy that values every voice and perspective, lighting a path toward a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.
